Demons are not supposed to be working together. The Mother seemed to get abused by them all and was in constant fear, even though she is a demon i felt bad for her. Tanjiro could tell she wanted to be killed/released and changed his form and gave her a good death. Tanjiro never kills out of hate, he is always kind.

I think you need to rewatch the episodes, especially the part where Tanjiro notices the spiders on his hand which would, if left alone, obviously give MS control over his fingers and grip motions. They didn't bother to draw all the threads because everyone aged 13+ would imagine the rest, and with some self-awareness as well as grade 7 or 8 biology knowledge you'd know about the ulnar nerves(located in the elbow area and along the forearm, and controlling hand grip) and how stressors from the outside, especially insect venoms and plant poisons can affect them. Even with marionettes from puppet shows, creators place string and pulleys systems in the forearm to mimic/realise hand grip.
